Bios

Don Sandford, President and CEO/Director, KinetiQ Inc will contribute leadership; market-focused portfolio selection and business development expertise to KinetiQ.

Don Sandford has twenty-five years experience with building new businesses, general management, global marketing, business development and sales, operations and public company leadership. Prior to starting KinetiQ, Don was CEO of Net Shepherd. Under his leadership Don, Ron Warris and the Net Shepherd team were inducted into the Smithsonian Institution and nominated by AltaVista and Digital Equipment Corporation for a Computerworld Smithsonian Award for their contribution to the technological innovation, commercial impact and societal benefit of filtered search technology. Prior to joining Net Shepherd in 1996, Don was a founder of the Newfrontiers Management Group Inc. which contributed to the building of Aurean Systems and its acquisition by GE.

Previously, Mr. Sandford was President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Centre for Agricultural Science and Technology, which focused on commercialization of public sector research and development.

 

Bob Bailly became managing partner of KinetiQ in November of 2002. At KinetiQ Bob applies experience gained over 23 years focusing on brand management issues, marketing and communications.

Bob is a third generation Calgarian, who after graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science degree, worked for a short time as a retail store manager and public relations director for a large not-for-profit organization.

In 1979, Bob began a career in advertising and marketing by joining McKim Advertising and has spent the last 23 years as a Planner, Manager and Director in a number of national advertising and design agencies. Until joining KinetiQ in late 2002, Bob's primary responsibilities have been to build these agencies business by understanding client's marketing needs, undertaking research, developing plans and executing marketing communications campaigns. He has been successful in acquiring new business, developing solid relationships, and performing the tasks of a marketing consultant, communications manager, conceptual thinker and planner. Bob has managed a broad cross-section of large and small accounts, has been a branch manager for a regional office of an international ad agency, and was Vice President for Calgary's largest agency - McKim Baker Lovick/BBDO. Bob has also completed certification in Brand Management from the Design Management Institute (Boston).

Bob's client experience is extensive and varied, having worked for a host of regional, national and international clients requiring strategic marketing and brand management counsel. He has worked in areas such as packaged goods, automotives, airlines, telecommunications, hospitality, real estate, not-for-profit, corporate communications, post secondary education and government. He supplements his knowledge by using research techniques to better understand customer behaviour and build strategies to foster customer satisfaction.

A frequent guest lecturer at the University of Calgary, SAIT and Mount Royal College, Bob is also past president of the American Marketing Association Calgary Chapter, and is a former director of the Lion's Gate Medical Research Foundation and the Alberta Chapter of the Osteoporosis Society of Canada.
